Alle disse elementene er laget for ripping, mens Go Fish forblir cruisey og morsom. Seaside er kun quad, hvorfor? Jeg bestemte meg for at hvis jeg først skulle lage en quad, så skulle jeg lage en quad som utelukkende er en quad… og designe concaves og bunnkonturer rundt det. Jeg redesignet faktisk hele oppsettet for concave som jeg har brukt på Moonbeam og Go Fish, og gjorde det med quad-oppsettet i tankene slik at alt fungerer sammen. Hvorfor kalle opp denne shapen etter hjemme-breaket ditt, Seaside? Å gi navn til surfebrett må være det vanskeligste i hele verden (ler). Det er bare den perfekte lille sticken når jeg surfer mitt hjemmested, Seaside. Hvorfor er Seaside bygget i Helium? Den første jeg laget for Tahiti var i LFT, og jeg brukte den i 6 fots tuber. Men de fleste surfer en shape som Seaside på beach breaks og små point breaks, så vi laget den i Helium fordi det er veldig lett, veldig responsivt, har mye flex med en mykere følelse og er veldig slitesterkt. Jeg mener det er det beste alternativet for en shape som Seaside i mindre og svakere bølger. Sometimes Mikey's requests are for original concepts, while other are his new take on a classic design. The latter was the case when he asked Britt for a traditional fish outline but that it have a contemporary engine (modern bottom contours, rocker, etc.) and finely foiled rails so it could be ridden at the highest performance levels possible. During its R&D revisions and refinement, Febs discovered this new fish comfortably covered a wide range of conditions: from dredging tubes in Mainland Mexico, to high lining with ease at Rincon, to effortlessly getting up on rail and hitting tightly arcing turns with full commitment and confidence at places like Jeffrey's Bay and Morocco, to groveling at Emma Wood.  It is now a staple board in his travel quiver and is his go-to design when just cruising at home. Dominator har vært en fast del av mitt eget brettutvalg, og en bærebjelke i Firewire-sortimentet, helt siden starten i 2008. DM II er ment å være en ren oppdatering av originalen, med designdetaljer som gjør at den fungerer godt i et bredere spekter av forhold og har enda bedre ytelse. Den mest åpenbare endringen i omrisset er at den har fått en squash-tail i stedet for den runde halen. I tillegg er railene noe mer raffinerte og ytelsesorienterte. Konkaven er den samme under fremfoten, men deler seg i en subtil "double-barrel" og en V ut gjennom de siste 5 tommene av halen. Their goal was to create something fresh feeling that turned well in good surf but skated with ease through the not-so-good stuff. There was one major stipulation during its development: the G Skate had to still perform at the highest of levels possible. They achieved this by shortening their typical shortboard rail line by 5” and adding curves and contours in key places that would keep them on top of the water and not hinder their turns in any way. Adding a 2 + 1 (twin plus trailer) fin set-up tied the whole concept together. The G Skate has a lot of get up and go speed thanks to its light single to double concave, low entry rocker, wide point forward—and its contemporary shortboard rails provide all the precision and control you could ever want. This stoke-infused collaboration also yielded an all-new Merrick / Gudauskas 2 + 1 fin set for the G Skate, and they also found that the AMT (2 + 1) fin set up also works very well. The purpose of this twin plus trailer fin set-up was to offer the beautiful “free feel” of a twinnie yet have the refined control of a thruster—which is critical in creating a board that accommodates the broad spectrum of approaches between all three G Bros. For those that prefer traditional thruster set-ups, their favorite thruster set will work well in this design—giving surfers twice the options and value.
